Update: Atlanta’s Remote Permitting and Inspections Process

Local

Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, the Department of City Planning has continued working on innovative ways to serve the development community including 3rd Party Inspections, digital permitting, video inspections and an updated process for continuing paper process.

Since this crisis began, the City has shifted to online permitting. According to Commissioner Tim Keane, “the department leapfrogged the normal electronic submittal launch architecture, so we could get something going quickly.” Version 2.0 of electronic submittals is expected to be operational soon.

Due to their “work from home” policy, the City has instituted 3rd party and video inspections. Both of these programs are projected to be used long after the pandemic is over.
