The Atlanta REALTORS® Political Action Committee (ARPAC) chose to through support to two candidates in Tuesday's Special Election Run-off elections.
After a series of candidate interviews, members of the Board of Trustees for ARPAC, with the recommendations from the residential and commercial Governmental Affairs Committees, voted to support Byron Amos for Atlanta City Council District 3 and Kenny Phelps for Cherokee County Commission, District 3.
Both men advanced to the run-off election after two highly contested special election races. Coincidentally, both men are vying to fulfill the unexpired term of the previous respective elected officials. Byron Amos, a former Atlanta Public Schools Board member, is running to replace the late Ivory Young and Kenny Phelps, a former Cherokee County County Official, is looking to replace Commissioner Bob Kovacs who resigned ealier this year.
