The Atlanta City Council now has a new Council member and the balance of power may have shifted. Antonio Brown shocked many when he defeated former Atlanta School Board member Byron Amos to fill the unexpired term of the late Ivory Young on the Atlanta City Council.
Out of nowhere, it seems, Antonio Brown squeeked into the run-off in the District 3 Council race and then went on to surprise many by defeating the perceived heir apparent. After the election on April 16th and his speedy swearing in 6 days later, Councilman Brown promised a new day in the City of Atlanta and many are waiting to see what that means.
Our Governmental Affairs Committee members have already reached out to Councilman Brown to be sure he understands our mission and look for ways to work with him to keep the metro Atlanta area as one of the most attractive real estate markets in the country.
