Many thanks to David Haddow of Haddow & Company for conducting a riveting discussion comparing two very different business cycles in Metro Atlanta -- our current cycle, compared to the 2006-2007 timeframe that ultimately resulted in the recession. In this compelling three-hour, free CE class hosted on December 1, 2017 by the ACBR, Mr. Haddow summarized the key economic indicators that led to the past economic downturn and presented reasons why we should feel greater hope that we have learned from lessons in our past. Overall, Mr. Haddow outlined Atlanta’s growth and expansion in several sectors, including healthcare, education, entertainment, and hospitality, and illustrated the benefits of this diversification. He also shared a detailed overview concentrating on the supply and demand conditions for Office, Industrial, Retail, Hotel and Residential markets. Wrapping up the program, Mr. Haddow discussed the effects of the capital markets and proposed what he sees as potential threats and issues to our long term growth and stability. Always a highly entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable speaker, Mr. Haddow delivered an impactful summary of significant issues which can truly make the difference this time.
