The Atlanta (Commercial) Board of REALTORS® acquired the Georgia Institute of Real Estate (GIRE) in 1980 for the benefit of our members.  GIRE was established in 1959 and is recognized as the oldest and most widely acclaimed real estate school in Georgia. GIRE has grown into a distinguished institution serving the real estate educations needs of nearly 20,000 students in Metro Atlanta and across Georgia. From our Atlanta and Duluth locations to our computer-based education, we offer a wide variety of courses. Whether you are beginning your career with a Salesperson Prelicense program or you want to enhance your professional development through quality continuing education, GIRE has what you are looking for!

Member Discounts

Members of the Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS® will receive a 10-20% discount on most courses.  All Courses reflect the full tuition for non-members until you log into the system and your current membership status is recognized. 

As an integral part of the Commercial Board, GIRE offers Managing Brokers of Board associated companies the opportunity to provide a $50 Scholarship to prospective students planning to attend a classroom-based Sales Prelicense course.

Additionally, the Commercial Board will waive the $60 CBR application fee for all Designated REALTORS® who complete the broker pre-license course (in-class at our Atlanta or Duluth locations, online or on CD-ROM) through the Georgia Institute of Real Estate and who were not previous members of the Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS®.

NAR Course: Discovering Commercial Real Estate

Discovering Commercial Real Estate is designed to be a basic introduction to commercial real estate. This course will help the student answer the following questions: "Should I add a commercial component to my business?", "What are the basics?", and "How do I get started"? Discovering Commercial Real Estate provides basic commercial real estate terminology, basic resources needed for a commercial real estate transaction, basic steps involved in a transaction and resources available through NAR, the REALTORS® Commercial Alliance and NAR's five commercial affiliates that will assist the student in deepening his/her commercial knowledge.
